JOB: Senior Technical Writer, Troy NY
Title: Senior Technical Writer – #5336
Status: Full Time – regular
Location: Troy, NY USA
This individual will develop, write and edit computer-related technical and user documentation and publication. Responsibilities include writing and maintaining documentation for company products, producing and reviewing indexes for documentation deliverables, serving as an editor on projects, and driving publication reviews. Ensures best practices and documentation style guidelines, maintains international perspective with regard to localization, technical support and training concerns. Will create documentation plans and schedules, and coordinate/communicate efforts with project managers and owners.
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred. 3-5 years of technical communications or technical experience necessary. Thorough knowledge of desktop layout and publishing software, publishing process, and technical communications practices required. Knowledge of Windows and/or Unix operating systems, relational database systems, server software, web servers and/or application servers preferred. Programming or scripting knowledge and experience and working knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and techniques preferred. Must have strong technical writing skills and be detail-oriented.
