The FrameMaker-DITA Yahoo Group has developed a structured application based on the ditabase DTD.

If you are interested in the Darwin Information Typing Architecture and how it might be used with Adobe FrameMaker 7.x (Structured), then this is a good starting point. The structured application includes a template and EDD (Element Definition Document). The download is available to members of our Yahoo Group. If you are interested in participating (through discussions, reviews, and development), then please join “framemaker-dita” at the Yahoo Groups website.

(Please do not join just to download and then leave…we need participants not poachers. :-)

This application is offered without any warranty or license agreement at this point. Our goal is to get it into the hands of users — at no fee — so that they may evaluate DITA’s potentials or begin implementations.

In addition to the independent users who have participated (Robert Watts, Alan Houser, Kay Ethier, Carl Haas, Don Day, Eric Silberstein, Gordon McLean, Alex Lastovski) participating in this development, several companies have worked to make this application available at no charge. These include Adobe, IBM DeveloperWorks, and Idiom.

If you have any questions regarding the group activities, contact Kay Ethier via email.
