FrameMaker 7.1 Now Shipping

Adobe Systems Incorporated is thrilled to announce the shipping of Adobe FrameMaker® 7.1, the upgrade to our award-winning, enterprise-class authoring and publishing solution. FrameMaker 7.1 offers the expanded Extensible Markup Language (XML) file handling and direct document import and migration features you need, providing a more efficient way to maintain long, complex documents. FrameMaker combines the simplicity of word processing with the power of XML, making it easier to repurpose content and publish to multiple channels, including print, Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), and the Web. Says Jim Heeger, senior vice president of Creative Professional Products at Adobe, “FrameMaker 7.1 adds superior XML handling and management features and unparalleled integration with other industry-leading Adobe products, giving customers a leg up by accelerating their workflows.”

Windows® users can expand on previous projects by migrating technical documents created in Adobe PageMaker® (versions 6.5–7.0) and QuarkXPress (versions 3.3-4.1) directly into FrameMaker 7.1. With new graphics format support, Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) can be used as a single source for publishing high-quality print vector graphics in printed materials, Adobe PDF, or on the Web. And expanded support for popular graphics file formats simplifies importing Adobe Photoshop® files directly into FrameMaker, saving you time.
